Technical Co-Sponsorship (TCS) Request Review | Instructions for TC Chairs

When a conference organizer wants to initiate contact with a TC, the following email outlining TCS criteria will be sent to the TC Chair.

Dear (TC Chair Title / Name),
TC Chair is to review the responses above provided by the conference organizers and give additional information to support your TC’s endorsement and evaluation of the conference proposed for Computer Society Technical Co-sponsorship.
  1. Is this conference within the FOI (Field of Interest) of your TC?
  2. Review the General Chair, Finance Chair, and other organizers – can you or others in your community vouch for the technical creditability of the organizers and potential quality of the conference?
  3. Does this conference’s Program Committees include a significant representation of members of the IEEE, Computer Society, and/or your Technical Community?
  4. Do you have confidence in the structure of the technical program/peer review process as described by the organizers?
  5. Please leave any comments below.
Thank you for your review.

Provided below is an email that we send to the conference organizer to contact the TC Chair to initiate contact.

Dear Conference Organizer,
Thank you for your interest in having the IEEE Computer Society be a Technical Co-Sponsor! To start the Computer Society process, the conference must select an IEEE Computer Society Technical Community to endorse the conference.
The conference must identify, reach out and start communications with an IEEE CS Technical Community that the Conference wishes to have as the Technical Sponsor to endorse the conference.
  • When reaching out to a TC, please try to select the best fit for the conference in terms of the scope of the conference.
    • A list of the TCs and corresponding TC Chairs is located here: Technical Communities List
    • Under Technical Co-Sponsorship, IEEE Computer Society volunteers and members must actively participate in the meeting’s technical program. Please ensure that the TC has active members taking part in the conference. If not, please work with the corresponding TC Chair to establish this relationship before proceeding with the sponsorship application.

TCS Request Form

Once selected and confirmed, the conference must complete the TCS Request Form, found HERE. Upon submission, the appropriate TC Chair will then receive the request and I will work with them to proceed.

*Please note, this step must be completed by the 6 month mark from the conference start date.
