Scope: The IEEE Computer Society Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Standards Committee manages the development of standards within the area of blockchains and distributed ledgers, including standards for relevant data formats, the development and implementation of blockchains and distributed ledger systems, and for applications of blockchains and distributed ledgers to specific sectors, industries, and processes.
Founded: 5th September 2019
STANDARDS COMMITTEE WEBSITEThe access control mechanism is a core requirement for blockchain systems, especially for the permissioned blockchain systems. Reasonable access control requirements are necessary to make blockchain systems secure and controllable.
Currently, valuable blockchain-based digital assets are scattered across multiple blockchain networks that belong to a large number of different users. A standard is needed to support a convenient and secure exchange model to enable the implementation of exchange of assets and avoid related security risks.
Most blockchain project testing is limited to code vulnerability testing, functional testing and performance testing. The open source nature of blockchain code, uncontrolled update iteration speed, and inconsistent industry standards provide challenges for implementer and testers. A standard is needed to provide an industry specification for required blockchain tests and testing methods.
The blockchain industry is transforming from application exploration to industry practice. However, blockchain service providers have no standards to follow to provide a normative and high-quality service, and customers also have no standards to use to evaluate blockchain service capabilities. Use of a standardized evaluation system is needed to support further growth of the blockchain industry.
Large scale commercial application of NFTs is not possible without a common understanding of the end to end processes that are used. When various industries apply NFT technology, they all need the joint participation of multiple related enterprises in the industrial chain.
