Student Preparedness for Undergraduate Computer Science Programs

Overview

This project will study how well students are prepared for success in undergraduate computer science. It comprises the design and administration of a detailed survey for undergraduate computer science faculty, followed by an analysis of the results, and leading to draft recommendations for the computer science community.

The project team will also collaborate with other computing organizations, such as the Computing Research Association (CRA), Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), and CSAB, to develop a broader community perspective on student preparedness.

Timeline

  1. Phase 1 (2025): Survey design, development, and testing
  2. Phase 2 (2025): Coordination with other computing organizations
  3. Phase 3 (2025): Survey distribution
  4. Phase 4 (2026): Analysis and recommendations
