SWEBOK Evolution

Work on the next iteration of SWEBOK, The Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge, began in Spring 2019.

The SWEBoK Guide describes generally accepted knowledge about software engineering.

For further information on the SWEBoK evolution visit the SWEBoK Evolution page.

If you would like to participate, contact Prof. Hironori Washizaki.

Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge (SEBoK) News

Version 1.6 Released

Version 1.6 of SEBoK was published on 18 March 2016 on the SEBOK Wiki. For details on what is new in the current edition, see SEBoK Release History.

The Guide to the Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge (SEBoK), available at https://www.sebokwiki.org, is a rich and well-structured collection of hundreds of short articles describing the primary knowledge in systems engineering. Authored by hundreds of professionals from the broad systems engineering community, the articles guide the reader to a wealth of additional information. Since its first edition in 2012, the SEBoK wiki is routinely accessed more than 50,000 times per month, making it one of the most widely read resources on systems engineering in the world.

GRCSE News

GRCSE (Graduate Reference Curriculum for Systems Engineering) is now available to the public on the GRCSE page.

BKCASE News

SEBoK and GRCSE are both parts of the Body of Knowledge and Curriculum to Advance Systems Engineering Project, commonly called "BKCASE," of which IEEE Computer Society is a participant and co-sponsor.

Engineering Competencies News

In 2016, we integrated industry-standard competency models with our bodies of knowledge.

An initial Software Engineering Competency Model (SWECOM) is available.

Individuals may download the SWECOM here.
