Nominations Sought for Key IEEE Computer Society Leadership Positions

2026 Board of Governors Call for Nominations2026 Board of Governors Call for NominationsLOS ALAMITOS, Calif., 03 February 2025 – The Nominations Committee of the IEEE Computer Society (CS), the leading computer science and engineering community providing best-in-class publications, conferences, and programs, opened its Call for Nominations for 2026 officers and 2026-2028 Board of Governors members. Open positions include:

  • President – The candidate elected in 2025 will serve a three-year term, as 2026 President-Elect, 2027 President, and 2028 Past President.
  • Vice President – The candidate elected in 2025 will serve a one-year term, from 1 January to 31 December 2026.
  • Board of Governors’ Members – Six members elected in 2025 will serve a three-year term, from 1 January 2026 until 31 December 2028.

“The IEEE CS Board of Governors determines and drives our mission and objectives,” said Jyotika Athavale, 2025 IEEE CS Past President and Nominating Committee Chair. “The industry leaders who serve on the Board of Governors not only gain personal opportunities to develop and make a difference, but also will work together to strategically shape industry direction, champion impactful initiatives, and influence next-generation technology focus. We encourage nominations from members interested in advancing the next round of Computer Society innovations.”

The Board of Governors is responsible for providing guidance and setting direction and strategy for IEEE CS. In addition, the Board reviews the performance of program boards and other committees to ensure compliance with its policy directions. Nominees for president-elect or vice president must have held graduate student member grade or higher in the IEEE and have been an IEEE CS member for the preceding three years. To be considered as an IEEE CS Board of Governors nominee, individuals must be an IEEE CS member. All nominees must affirm willingness and availability to serve and must agree to seek significant involvement in IEEE CS activities.

Nominations are being accepted through Monday, 10 March 2025 at 5:00PM EDT/21:00 UTC. Self-nominations are encouraged. Completed nomination forms for 2026 leadership positions may be submitted either as a Word document to csnominations@computer.org or via a Google Form.
