Featured ImageFeatured ImageMegha Ben is a Systems Project Manager at Siemens Smart Infrastructure, based in Raleigh, NC, USA. She is a two-time recipient of the IEEE Computer Society Richard E. Merwin Student Scholarship, originally from India. Megha earned her B.Tech in Applied Electronics and Instrumentation from the College of Engineering Trivandrum in 2018. Megha holds a Master’s in Engineering Management and a professional certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Duke University.

An active IEEE member since 2014, Megha has volunteered in over 15 leadership roles at various levels. Currently, she serves as an elected member of the IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors (2024–2026), advocating for early career professionals in leadership. Previously, she was a TAB Representative for IEEE Young Professionals and Vice Chair for Students and Young Professionals (SYP) on the IEEE CS MGA Board (2019–2021). During her tenure, she redefined the scope of student and young professional activities, restructured the committee, and initiated impactful member engagement programs. In 2021, she authored the student membership vision statement for the IEEE CS Strategic Plan and contributed to the Ad Hoc Committee for Increasing Diversity in BoG Nominations/Slate. Her efforts earned her the Spirit of IEEE Computer Society Award “For effectively representing Student and Early Career initiatives across many Computer Society strategic efforts.”

While at Duke University, Megha excelled in bridging student and industry connections. She served as an Associate in Research at Duke Pratt School of Engineering, designing community-building initiatives for the Master’s in Engineering Management (MEM) program. She organized Alumni Panels, Industry Info Sessions, and led efforts to enhance the student experience. Megha was also a founding cabinet member and later President of the IDEA (Innovation Design Entrepreneurship Applications) Club, a graduate student organization under Duke’s Pratt School of Engineering. Additionally, she contributed as a Program Assistant for Duke Civic Engagement and served on the Duke International Students Advisory Board.

Megha’s commitment to innovation and her passion for empowering others extend beyond her profession. Her numerous accolades include the IEEE CS Spirit of the Computer Society Award (2021), Continuous Service Award (2019), and the WeTech Qualcomm Global Scholarship (2015).
