Cyril Onwubiko

Dr. Cyril Onwubiko is a Business Information Security Officer, Barclays.  Prior to Pearson, Dr. Onwubiko had a 20-year career at COLT Telecommunications, British Telecommunications, Cable & Wireless Worldwide (now Vodafone), Lloyds Banking Group, Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), and the UK Home Office. He designed and built the Strategic Security Operations Centre (SSOC), the Cybersecurity functions at the Department of Work and Pensions, and at the UK Home Office, he built from the ground up the Cybersecurity function. Working in the enterprise architecture function, he led the integration of several banks that formed the Lloyds Banking Group, the largest retail banking in the UK then.

Dr. Onwubiko is a graduate of the University of Oxford, Said Business School, Organisational Leadership program, and holds a PhD in Computer Network Security from Kingston University, London, UK, MSc in Internet Engineering, and BSc, first class honours, in Computer Science & Mathematics. He has authored and edited several books and articles.

Dr. Onwubiko is a board member of IEEE Computer Society, Citizens Advice Bureau, Member of the European Public Policy Committee, and founder of the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research, Innovation and Collaboration (C-MRiC), a not for profit and nongovernmental organisation.
